Mini’s range-topping Countryman has been given a fresh new design but loses some power for the European market. The John Cooper Works badging is reserved for the most powerful and sporty Mini’s in the line-up, which makes it a little sad that the 2024 Countryman model will make do with less power and torque than the preceding model. Customers in the US will get to enjoy the full 312 hp on offer, while those in Europe will only get 295 hp. Whilst that’s not a huge gap in power output, most buyer won’t expect a downgrade for the new model.
Elsewhere, Mini have fitted out the Countryman with all-wheel drive, quad exhaust tips, Chili Red brake calipers, wider 245-section tyres and either 19 or 20-inch John Cooper Works wheels. The cabin gets a more minimalist look and a tech upgrade that includes a refreshed OLED display.
