Gordon Murray’s T.33 Spider revealed as a pretty and lightweight V12 roadster. The removal of the roof has resulted in a thorough reworking of the coupe version of the T.33 to make the Spider a special creation in its own right. So extensive are the changes that every body panel from the centre of the front wheels back, are all new.
The B-pillar buttresses have been made shorter, the glass engine cover has been replaced with a new rear deck, the engine cooling is new, and the exhaust system has to be reworked and now features two pairs of chimney stacks on the engine deck. Overall the weight of the T.33 Spider has been kept low, tipping the scales only 18 kilograms heavier than the coupe with a dry weight of 1,108 kg.
