The Smit Oletha is a beautifully crafted hard-top coupe version of the Z8 that BMW never made. Starting out with the chassis, suspension and steering from the E86 BMW Z4 coupe , Smit then went about transforming it into what looks like a Z8 in coupe form instead of being a roadster.
The engine chosen for powering the Smit Oletha starts out as a 4.0L V8 from the E92 M3 and undergoes some modifications to enlarge it to 4.4L with a new crankshaft, pistons, conrod, cams, valve springs and more. The end result is a peak power rating of 450 hp with 340 lb-ft of torque and a 0-60 mph time of 4 seconds.
