Ford’s Shelby GT350R is the more focused, lightweight Mustang that makes some compromises in the name of extra performance. In order to achieve their weight reduction targets, Ford have removed the rear seat, exhaust resonators and fitted very light carbon fiber wheels. The front suspension geometry has been redesigned with the high-trail steering knuckle taken from the GT500. Along with a new steering rack and recalibrated electric power steering control, this all helps to elevate driver confidence and steering precision.
To help set apart the GT350R from the GT350, Ford have added a few subtle visual flares. The brake calipers have been painted red, and red pin striping has been added to the edges of the optional racing stripe. GT350R badging adorns both inside and out, with high-contrast red stitching added to the interior and a red center mark placed at the top of the steering wheel.
