The third generation of Fords popular pony car affectionately known as the Fox Body Mustang. After the disappointing mustangs of the mid to late 70’s, Ford made a strong push back to a more sporty nature for their new Mustang. Most of the car was re-invented with Fords Special Vehicle Operations Department tasked with developing the car to appeal to Americans and compete with its European sports car rivals.
