Shock new Hennessey Blackbird hypercar had arrived as a celebration of analogue driving and the world’s fastest spy plane. Known for their big power offerings, Hennessey have developed their third-generation hypercar called the Blackbird which follows the Venom GT and Venom F5 . This time though, they have taken a slightly different approach. Gone is the huge power output and in its place is a more sensible but still not slow, 850 hp naturally aspirated 6.2L V8. Set to rev over 9000 rpm, this bespoke Ilmor-designed engine will be mated to a six-speed manual transmission and drive the rear wheels only. Hennessey are targeting a 0 to 60 mph sprint time of 2.5 seconds and a top speed of 220 mph.
Styling has been influenced by the legendary Lockheed SR-71 spy plane, and is built around a new full-carbonfibre tub with full-carbonfibre bodywork.
