Ferrari have revealed a new V12 powered supercar with a manual, except it’s not the manual you were expecting. Instead of fitting the 12Cilindri with a proper manual gearbox complete with all the usual mechanical connections one would expect, Ferrari have taken the eight-speed DCT gearbox and made a manual shift for it. This means the shifts are all managed electronically, with no mechanical connection with the clutch pedal. In essence, drivers will get half the manual experience with the rowing of gears through the gated gear lever, but without the physical sensations of feeding the clutch in and out.
