Ferrari’s latest mid-engined road racer is the 296 Speciale, and it’s quicker than a LaFerrari around Fiorano. Following in the footsteps if one of Ferrari’s best creations and its namesake, the 458 Special e, Ferrari are promising “the highest driving thrill ever on one of our cars, and the biggest smile on the driver’s face ever achieved with a Ferrari”.
The Speciale’s V6 engine generates 36 more horsepower which now totals 690 hp from the engine on its own. The e-motor, which is mounted between the engine and the eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox, also has a bit more power and combines to bring the total system output to 868 hp and 557 lb-ft.
