Boreham Motorworks are bringing back the 1960’s with a Mk1 Escort engineered and manufactured to modern standards. Described it as a ‘continumod’ and officially licensed by the Ford Motor Company, Boreham Motorworks are building 150 of these made from-scratch new-build Ford Escort RS’s. The lucky owners will get the choice of two different engine configurations starting with a 1.8L inline 4 cylinder twin-cam producing 185 hp and revving up to 8500 rpm. The second, and more interesting choice, is a 2.1L inline 4 cylinder ‘Boreham TEN-K’ engine producing 325 hp and revving up to 10,000 rpm. Talk about a real screamer of an engine, something that has been achieved by individual throttle bodies, F1-inspired port geometry and a lightweight block with billet internals.
