New Chevrolet Blazer EV launches with the top of the line performance SS model, boasting over 550 horsepower. Somewhat unusually, the Blazer EV is not related to the regular petrol powered Blazer, this is a new beast in it’s own right that is set to rival the Ford Mustang Mach-E GT .
Equipped with a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive setup, the Blazer EV SS produces 557 hp and 648 lb-ft of torque. That should be good enough for a 0-60 mph time of under the 4 second mark, although Chevy are yet to finalise that number. The SS model gets Brembo brakes up front and track-tuned suspension with performance tyres on 22-inch wheels. Styling is a little more aggressive and sporty looking for the SS, which should provide a range of around the 290 mile mark.
