Convertible Spider variant of the ballistic McLaren 765LT has arrived with all the power and performance of the coupe. It’s the latest in the line of drop-top LT’s, opting for a folding hard-top roof and managing to add an impressive 49 kilograms of weight. Tipping the scales at 1,388 kg, the 765LT Spider is a full 80 kg less than the 720S Spider thanks to a carbon fiber roof panel.
The power and torque levels have remained exactly the same as the coupe with 755 hp available at 7,500 rpm and 590 lb-ft of torque at 5,500 rpm. Despite the extra weight, the Spider will still launch from 0-62 mph in the same 2.8 seconds as the coupe, with only the 0-124 mph time increasing by 2 tenths to 7.2 seconds. The quoted quarter mile time is a flat 10 seconds and the cars maximum top speed is 205 mph.
