Aston’s hypercar goes topless, as the Valkyrie Spider joins the family. The Valkyrie now has three variants to choose from, with the coupe and track-only AMR versions now joined by the convertible Spider that features a simple removable roof section. The job of achieving this wasn’t as simple as it sounds with the doors needing to be re-shaped and hinged to the body, as the coupe has the door hinges connected to the central roof structure for a gullwing type setup.
Performance is claimed to be identical to the coupe, with the 11,000 rpm naturally aspirated Cosworth V12 engine producing 1,000 hp on it’s own and 1,160 hp when combined with a single electric motor. Combined torque is rated at 664 lb-ft, and the top speed will remain at over 217 mph with the roof on or 205 mph with the roof off.
