Welcome the 4th generation Mazda MX5’s folding hard top version. Unlike the regular convertible soft top, the MX5 RF’s roof folds away revealing two prominent buttresses permanently in place much like a targa top. This all adds up to a silhouette that looks more coupe like in appearance than roadster.
At launch the MX5 RF is available in a limited series run of 500 units ladled the ‘Launch Edition’. This includes BBS alloy wheels, a twin-tone roof, black door mirrors and rear spoiler as well as Recaro seats. The only engine option for the launch edition is the top line 2.0L 4 cylinder.
