The HGTE which stands for Handling Gran Turismo Evoluzione, is an upgrade offered by Ferrari to improve the handling of the 599 GTB.
Significant alterations were made including lowering the ride height with stiffer springs and rear anti-roll bar, and new calibration settings for the Delphi MagneRide magneto-rheological shock absorbers. The tyres were optimised with a different compound to improve grip levels, and the gearbox gained quicker shift times. Finally the exhaust was changed to deliver a more thrilling sound in performance modes.
